Compassion isn’t complicated—
just warm, honest, and human.
Our mission is to build community through direct, person-to-person care—providing nourishment, dignity, and connection to individuals and families experiencing housing instability, poverty, or isolation.
Everyone is welcome!
Composition Family Services, Inc. (CFS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit rooted in the belief that every person deserves dignity, warmth, and community—especially those living without a permanent place to call home.
Founded by Jessica Dillon, LCSW-R and inspired by the lifelong service of Sister Mary Lanning, CFS builds person-to-person support networks that meet real needs with compassion and respect.
What We Do
-
Every Thanksgiving, we gather in Harlem to prepare and serve hundreds of meals street-side, creating a joyful community celebration for our unhoused neighbors.
-
From personal care packages to warm clothing, we offer thoughtful support that affirms dignity and promotes well-being.
-
We're launching group hiking and wellness outings for teens in the Hudson Valley to foster connection, confidence, and community.
Rooted in Legacy
Our work is inspired by the incredible Sister Mary Lanning and her decades of compassionate activism through YES!Solutions. We proudly carry her tradition forward—serving meals, building relationships, and creating community wherever it’s needed most.
